Living in Life instead of Living in Fantasy
December 23, 2009
We deny what we have so we can have what we want. What do I mean? Well, in general… we take stock of what we have and proclaim that we don’t want “THIS.” We want “THAT.”
An example? A dear friend wanted a child, neither of her marriages produced offspring, so she adopted. She married again, hoping that this man would be a good father and husband. He never really wanted the role- although he wanted her. Now, years later, her parents are ailing- and she finds herself forced by her economic circumstances to move home with her son. She is close with her parents, so this is not awful, but… but… it is written all over her that THIS IS NOT WHAT SHE WANTED. But it is what she has hence, we deny what we have so we can have what we want – only it’s a fantasy or longing because to her, it is better to live in fantasy than to accept her circumstances.
There’s the key: SHE created her life. She is the conductor of the orchestra and they are playing HER song.
So, what does this mean? Embrace what you have. Acknowledge that THIS IS her family. This is it. And from that point of acceptance and appreciation we can build.
Now consider the statement for yourself. Are you denying what you have in order to create what you want?
My free meditation for December ’09 is all about being open to receive. You have already been open to what you currently have! Now choose what’s next.
Many Blessings-
